MTC will be doing a 'Pilot Production' of The Heart Of Rock And Roll JR.

This musical, which is inspired by the songs of Huey Lewis and The News, with a Book by Jonathan A. Abrams, appeared on Broadway during the 2024 Season.  Our 'Pilot Production' will be the third one authorized by Music Theatre International of this new musical.  It will also be the seventh 'pilot' that MTC has produced in our history.  While there are no guarantees, we have often had representatives from Disney Theatricals, iTheatrics (which hosts the Junior Theater Festival), and Music Theatre International (which licenses 'JR.' musicals), attend our previous 'Pilot Productions'.  You can see the list of our 'Pilots' below.

Familiar Huey Lewis and The News songs in this new musical include:  "The Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" (which were both in the Back To The Future movie),"Hip To Be Square", "Do You Believe In Love", "If This Is It",  "Workin' For A Livin'", "I Want A New Drug", "Stuck With You", and the title song, among others.
