Production Information:
Cast members must be rising high school seniors to 29 years old.
This year's Rising Stage is a new take on a popular concept out of NYC. The Backwards Broadway Cabaret is a new programming idea for Rising Stage performers rising High School Seniors to age 29. It will involve actors singing songs typically associated with roles they wouldn't traditionally be cast in. With your creativity and the direction of Thom Sirkot, The Backwards Broadway Cabaret will lead to humorous, thought-provoking, or surprising interpretations of a song or songs you have always wanted to perform. Performers should audition with songs that contrast with their usual type, and that play with gender, age, or character portrayal. You will have the opportunity to perform in four full cast numbers and various solos, duets, trios or small group numbers. Your collaboration, your talent, your friends, your performance. Come on out for this witty MTC twist on the miscast cabaret performing five performances August 12th through a Saturday matinee on the 16th at First Methodist Church.
